My art practice examines the environment around me, focusing on the dynamic between found and ‘made’ objects and the intentional staging of various provocative visual moments. More particularly my works are based on, or contain elements of, memories of past experiences and places. In the recent past I gravitated towards collage to help me quickly sketch out memories and images I have in my head from a certain time, place or event that has taken place. At the heart of my practice is my emphasis on process-driven paintings. The techniques which I have developed help to move my paintings forward in ways I cannot predict. I respond to the surfaces I create in an intuitive way.
