My work is heavily based on research from the fields of photography, literature and cinema. I am looking for a ‘grotesque’ human presence in a distorted reality throughout my work. This is achieved in an exploration of processes, combining photographic chemicals, bitumen, oil bars, wire, charcoal and inks. Through mark-making a complex state of emotion is revealed. This evolves into collages and then 3D installations, sculpture and photography.
